UI/UX DESIGN | GAME DESIGN

About Me

Hello! I am a Computation and Design student studying at Duke Kunshan University. I am particularly interested in the interaction between humans and technology, and how technology can be designed with the user in mind.I am currently working with the EGD Collective's Fellowship to develop a roguelike game. I work in the creative design team, collaborating with my team members and the other teams to create the final project. You can find Project Dreamscape on Steam.I am also currently working with my university's campus engagement team to make posters promoting on campus events and an arts newsletter. In my free time I work on logo designs for clubs on campus and work on my capstone project, which is a VR exploration game I plan to eventually publish.Feel free to reach out!

Portfolio

Game Interface Design

I have experience in a variety of software for interface design, such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud. In my work with the EGD Collective, I am part of the UI/UX team. I work in agile development with weekly scrum forms to ideate and refine UI interfaces for the project. Wishlist our game on Steam!

Game Development

In addition to my work with EGD, I have published a couple small games (mostly school projects).Child of the Earth Lord is an arcade-style game exploring Mesoamerican mythology, specifically the earth diety Tlaltecuhtli.I did a lot of research for this project, and linked all sources and a brief explanation of the games themes within an information section of the game.

3D Design

I also have experience in 3D design and modeling, mainly with the softwares Blender and Maya. Most of my 3D work has been done in building and world design. The examples above are from a class project where I worked in a team to design a 3D world inspired by ancient Sumeria. I plan to expand this project into my Signature Work: a intensive project undertaken as part of my major. The project will be a VR experience focusing on the myth The Descent of Inanna.

Newsletter Work & Posters

As part of my work with my university, I design a newsletter released on a monthly basis. This typically entails creating a key visual that sets the tone for the editions design, and helping format the articles and images as they come in.I often go throw multiple iterations of the key visual as I work through color combinations, intensity, and text placement. In the example shown above, I started with flat shapes and colors, then started experimenting with brushes and textures. The end result felt a little dull, so I added a color burn layer and yellow highlights. I also removed the texture from the background planets as it was too distracting. The end result was a key visual that fit our theme of retrofuturism perfectly.

I also make event posters, both for my job with campus engagement and for different clubs I'm involved with. I enjoy the oppurtunity to make creative designs that reflect the unique event and draw people's attention.
